Rapid State are a musical endeavour established and led by Chris Birkinshaw. Chris writes the original lyrics and music and arranges the tracks with his brother Nick with various leading UK session musicians joining the fold. This unique approach, song writing style and quality has developed into the Rapid state sound - an independant sound that shows influences from indie and alternative through to folk and country.

The Rapid State web page presents the bands music through our current selection of EP's that demonstrate some of the our many musical influences that have resulted in the Rapid State sound.

The key musicians are Chris on guitars, Nick on bass, Luke Flowers and Sam Carr on drums and Matt Hind on Keys. Chris and Nick fill in on percussion, harmonica and slide guitar.

All recording is done at Sound Station Studios in Wakefield with Recording Engineer Mark Sturges.
